An actor website is one small site on an address that is your own name, holding your headshots, your reel, your credits in a readable list and one way to reach you. That is the entire specification. It is not a portfolio, it is not a blog, and it is not a brochure: it is the single link you send when somebody asks for one, and the page a stranger finds when they are handed your name and want to know in a few seconds whether you are the person in the room.
Which is why a gallery of beautiful sites is close to useless as a guide, and why this page is a list of ordinary ones instead. The useful question is not which actor website looks best. It is which one is shaped like your career right now.
Why the famous examples do not help
Search this phrase and you get roundups of sites belonging to people whose names you already knew before you clicked. Those sites are well made. They are also solving a different problem, and nothing about them transfers.
A visitor to a famous actor's site already knows who the actor is and has come to confirm something or to find a press contact. Your site is read by somebody who was handed your name with four other names beside it, has not seen your work, and is deciding whether to watch thirty seconds of your reel. That reader needs the face, the name and the reel in the first screen, in that order. The roundup sites almost never do that, because they do not have to.
The second reason is maintenance, and it is the one that decides how your site looks in two years. A site in one of those roundups was built once by somebody paid to build it and is updated by somebody paid to update it. Yours will be updated by you, between a day job and auditions, which is the whole difference between a good actor website and a good looking one. Everything on what makes an actor website good is written against that constraint: eight tests, and almost none of them are about design.
Real actor websites, grouped by what the actor has to show
These are 21 members who moved their site onto their own address and have at least three photographs or three credits on it. Names as the records hold them, and the address is a link, so none of it has to be taken on trust. Every address was fetched on 21 October 2026 and all of them answered with a page.
The groups are worked out from the live counts rather than chosen by hand, and nobody here is grading anybody's website in public. Nothing below is a ranking, and a member who would rather not be listed can say so and the row goes, same day.
A long filmography, where the credits are the site
Fifteen credits and up. Once the list is this long, the list is the main thing on the site, and the pattern worth copying is that none of these actors put their filmography in a PDF. It is a page: the role, the production, the year, in the format a casting director reads in twenty seconds, which also means a search engine can read it and an AI engine can quote it. A downloadable resume sits next to that for the people who want to print it, never instead of it.
Look at what the first screen does on these sites. It is almost always a photograph and a name, with the credits one click away rather than scrolled past.

A reel to lead with
Four pieces of footage or more, and a shorter credit list. When the strongest thing you have is something somebody can watch, it goes first, and the only real rule is that it plays where it sits: one click, no new tab, no autoplay, no sound until it is asked for. The longer version of that, including the two hosting defaults that quietly undo it, is on where to put an acting reel.

Photographs and a start
These are the ones to look at if you have headshots, a couple of credits and nothing else yet, and they are the most useful group on this page. Nothing on them pretends to be bigger than it is. There is no padded filmography, no page of logos from workshops, and no section left empty with a heading above it, which is the single most common mistake on a new actor website: an empty Press page says more about you than a missing one does.

What all of them do the same
Five things, and they are the whole of it. Everything else on an actor website is preference.
- The address is the actor's own name. Not a platform subfolder, and not a name with a hyphen and a number in it. If the one you want is taken, the domain name finder checks the actor variants in one go.
- The headshots are cropped the same way and there are not many of them. Eight at most, one treatment, no contact sheet. The reasoning is on actor website design.
- The reel plays in one click and stays quiet until it is asked to.
- The credits are text in the industry's format, not an image and not a PDF.
- There is one way to contact them, and it is one step. An agent's address where there is an agent, a form or an email address where there is not. What to leave off a page that is public and indexed is covered on what to put on and leave off.
The one thing no example can show you
Every site on this page looks fine today. The question that matters is what it looks like in a year, and no screenshot can answer it. An actor website is not a thing you build, it is a thing you keep true: a credit lands, a new reel goes up, a photographer sends twelve frames, and either somebody edits the site that week or the site starts lying about you.
That is the one test worth applying to any website builder, including this one. Pick the site you would build, then imagine booking a job next Tuesday and count what you would have to do by hand for the site to be true again. On this platform the answer is nothing for most of it: the credits come in from IMDb and the reel from YouTube or Vimeo on their own, which is the reason these member sites are still standing years after they were made rather than abandoned at their best moment.
If you are still deciding whether any of this is worth doing, do actors need a website is the honest version, including what this platform cannot prove and the same members listed with the dates they joined.
Building one shaped like these
The step by step version, in the order the steps actually have to happen, is how to make an actor website. If you would rather look at the designs first, every one of them is on a single page, and each is an actor website rather than a general template with a headshot dropped into it.
Put your name in and look
Faster than reading any of this. Start with your name and the site builds itself from what it can already find. Free, and nothing to cancel.
Or read the eight tests
What separates a good actor website from one that merely looks good is eight checks, and you can run them on any site on this page.
Every website named on this page belongs to the actor, not to us, and is linked because they chose to put it on their own address. The counts come from the live records; the addresses were fetched on 21 October 2026 and all of them answered. Nothing here is a ranking, and no member paid to be listed. If you are on this page and would rather not be, tell us and the row goes the same day.
