Your Contacts, Sorted, and Spam Out of the Inbox

An actor's contact list is a working tool: casting offices, directors you have worked with, the photographer, the people who signed up for your newsletter. Two screens that hold those people have been rebuilt.

Contacts is a table now

Under Social, then Contacts, your list is a sortable, searchable table, 25 contacts to a page, with an A to Z bar to jump through it. Every address says where it came from: typed in by you, imported, or collected by your site when someone signed up for your newsletter. That tells you at a glance who you actually know and who only knows you.

Categories show their counts, can be renamed or deleted, and refuse a duplicate name. If a category was deleted in the past and contacts still point at it, the page labels them and offers to clear them in one click.

Four ways to add people

New Contact now opens on a choice instead of a form:

Spam has its own place in Messages

Messages from your contact form arrive under Social, then Messages. The title row now has an Inbox, Spam and Trash toggle, and each view lists only its own mail. Suspected spam no longer sits tinted at the top of your inbox, above the casting office you were waiting to hear from.

You also decide, not just the filter. Every inbox message has a Mark as spam button, and every message in Spam has Not spam to move it back. Marking something as spam also removes the sender from your contacts if your site added them on its own, so a spammer who typed into your newsletter box does not stay on your list. Anyone you typed in or imported is kept.

Why it matters

A contact list is only useful when you trust it. Knowing where each address came from is what lets you send a newsletter to the right people without worrying who else is in there. For how visitor messages reach you in the first place, see visitor messages in your dashboard, and for the details your site shows publicly, your contact details, in one place.
