Collect Your Reviews and Interviews in One Place
Press is now a structured page type on your actor website. Each item has an outlet, a headline, a date, a link, an optional pull quote and an optional image. Together they make a page that reads as a record rather than a list of links.
Why the pull quote is the important field
Nobody clicks through to read the review. They read the sentence you extracted from it and form an impression in two seconds. One strong line under a recognizable outlet name does more than fifteen links to full articles.
Pick the sentence that names you specifically. "A superb production" is about the show. "Okafor is quietly devastating in the second act" is about you, and it is the one that belongs on your site.
What counts as press
More than you think. Reviews, obviously. But also interviews, podcast appearances, festival announcements, local news coverage, industry trade mentions, and the university alumni piece you were slightly embarrassed by. A page with nine varied items reads better than a page with two prestigious ones and a lot of white space.
What does not count: your own social posts, a listing that merely contains your name in a cast list, and anything you paid for.
Order and pruning
Newest first by default. Two exceptions worth making manually: put your single strongest piece at the top regardless of date, and remove anything more than about six years old unless it is genuinely significant. Old press dates a page in a way old credits do not.
Link out, and link honestly
Always link to the original where one exists, and let the link open in a new tab so you do not lose the visitor. If an article has gone offline, keep the item with the quote and drop the link rather than pointing at a dead address. A press page full of broken links is worse than a short one.
Related features
Outlet logos now appear automatically, which is covered in default logos for press outlets. We also search for coverage of you, which is press mentions, and anything found can be turned into a press item in one click. The whole page can be bundled into a press kit.
