Sometimes I feel like I'm in a place where I can't even describe it in a photo. My world is like a place where I don't exist. And they look at me like they're eating me. In their reality, I don't have a place to sleep. It's a big mess. My world is completely different in 2026, with the present in sync. This world is everywhere, politics, medicine, it's a global power in the world, and so on. But how do I make this world real? Who should I write to?

i everyone!I’m currently developing a drama feature/short titled "Where Feathers Meet the Ground", and I would love to get input specifically from female actors on the character dynamics and dialogue. Logline: Driven by the physical and emotional abuse of her controlling father, a 20-year-old art student spirals into impulsive, risky behavior in a desperate attempt to reclaim autonomy over her life. What I’m looking for: I want to ensure the female characters—specifically Emily (20, dealing with trauma, rage, and autonomy) and Sara (38, an abused mother trying to find the courage to protect her daughters)—feel completely authentic, raw, and performable. My questions for you:Do the dialogue and emotional beats feel natural and performable for an actor?Does Emily’s coping mechanism and internal conflict resonate as grounded/realistic to you?If you were reading this for an audition, what would make you jump at the chance to play these roles?I’d be happy to share a short sequence / scene sample (3-5 pages) via DM with anyone interested in reading and dropping a few thoughts. Thanks so much for your time and expertise! Looking forward to connecting.

I am an emerging actor in NYC and have wanted some more serious one on one training. I’m looking for something like a private coach you meet with once a week to work on technique, monologues, auditions etc. But I am having trouble finding any like this that aren’t a one time master class, a class with other students, or someone who is referral only. Would anyone have any suggestions or know where to look to find something like this?

Is it a huge deal that I just did this by mistake on a commercial audition?? They asked for it in the instructions. I do alot of self tapes with this casting director and I don't think I've ever forgotten before. Now I'm nervous , but this wouldn't cost me a callback or anything could it? I feel like that's my anxiety talking and I'm overthinking this but I feel like I need some other experiences or opinions from other actors on this.

Hello everyone, are any actors in LA represented by SweetHeart Elite Talent Agency ? The reason I asked is because I spent nearly 3 hours submitting to around 300 agencies in LA and they were the only agency to offer me representation and do a meeting. My next question is , what experience does anyone have with this agency ? The reason being is because I really want to excel in my career as this is a new market I am breaking into

Hi just curious since the industry is slow for a lot of us right now. Atlanta actors what auditions are coming in through agents rn for you and your type? I always just find it interesting!

i recently rehearsed a one-on-one scene with my scene partner a week ago and i still feel super super terrible because i ended up directing her. in short, the scene has a lot of physical action and i was giving her suggestions on certain movement, and where and when to move. in addition, there were times where i asked about what she thought her motivations were as a character and how they could be expressed. sometimes i challenged her ideas based on what we talked about when developing the characters. i felt like i knew in the moment i was over-thinking and over-rehearsing but it is what ended up happening. we went back and forth on a lot of things and i feel like we had fundamental disagreement on some stuff. i am pretty fresh and i just feel like a terrible control freak. i should know better and just try to support the scene the best way i can, and i feel stupid because in the end we're just two people trying to create a truthful moment and do our best in something we both enjoy. i realized that i actually don't know the etiquette at all of trying to rehearse a scene and how much input i'm supposed to be having as a scene partner... please help me i ended up apologizing and tried to make sure that she didn't feel like i was overdirecting her or trying to dictate the way she is playing her character. she said that she felt like it was fine and we needed to discuss certain things together. i don't know if i went overboard or if we're supposed to be discussing ideas like this as a pair. how do you rehearse one-on-one scenes? i feel sad and stressed out. i want to support my partner in the future and don't want to be a control freak or a director, i do want to be curious about what people bring as individuals and actors. thank you so much for reading this everyone, i truly appreciate it.

How it creates better & more opportunities: Brands, directors, investors want to use it because it provides them real talent+ saves energy & saves time. So actors don't really need to depend on agents & other stuffs(you know well) just direct deals!! Lot of candidates apply for one role. They are selected by manual process(we all know how messy it is), then it clicked! why can't we use AI to to detect actors perfect for a particular role?, as an AI engineer AI could do that! It could narrow down to top 10 candidates out of hundreds. **but question is, Is it really a problem for casting agencies/ casting directors ?** Open for advice, opinions(good or bad), answers

With vertical dramas, there's been an explosion of debate, discussion and dissection around them. Nuclear bomb kind of explosion in the past year. I wonder about this because while naturally there are many that are inherently unwatchable unless there's morbid curiosity, recently there's been more that I can't help but get into regardless of the cringe factor and the blatant, over the top lack of plausibility. When watching them, it just seems that there's more and more that have somehow managed to find genuinely skilled, properly trained and capable actors and actresses that have managed to take what they're given and run with it like they're trying to do justice to Hamlet, A Midsummer Night's Dream or Ceasar. They bring their A games with what they're given, though I do realize that could be at least in part my untrained eyes and those who are more familiar with the art of acting and film could end up pointing out to me where I'm not quite right. After years of sitcoms, comedies and romances that are mostly half hour ort longer volleys of insults and degrading bullshit given wholesome and friendly veneers, vertical dramas that are open about their escapism have been genuinely refreshing. The actors and directors have gotten better at turning [narm](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Narm) material into [narm charm](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/NarmCharm) material. And after years of seeing insufferable characters go through countless tv episodes and/or movies not being held accountable for much of anything, there's a catharsis factor even when that accountability comes in the form of the most outlandish plot twists. Does this make me in some sense an enemy of acting and film communities and culpable in their downfall? Does this make me inherently amoral and dishonorable in some sense?

I've been watching a lot of films lately, and it made me realize that some supporting actors stay in your mind long after the movie ends, even if they only had a few minutes of screen time. It's not always the biggest names either. Sometimes it's their screen presence, facial expressions, unique voice, martial arts skills, or simply how authentic they feel. For people who work in film or just enjoy watching movies: **What qualities make a supporting actor stand out?**

Hi everyone! I have a few casting call deadlines coming up this weekend , and im an entirely new actress. I was wondering if anyone would mind looking over my self tape videos? It would be such a big help, and I would love any criticism or help to see if it's good to submit. I can dm if you comment or dm me !! thank you so much! this would help tons!

So I just filmed a commercial that I had a great time on. 90% of it was comedy improv and I think I did pretty well since crew and directors were trying not to laugh during some of the takes. When I wrapped everyone was very kind, they thanked me and several crew asked me if I had theatre experience. To the point where I started questioning, are they asking for a positive reason or because I'm an over actor? In my typical overthinking way, I've come away thinking "am I an over actor and they were trying to tell me?" I'm curious if this is something people ask and if so, perhaps you could give me some insight. (No, I have no theater experience btw haha.)

UPDATE: I did wind up involving my agent. As many said here, it felt like the best course of action, considering it is NonUnion rush call in another country... I've also hopefully built the beginning of a good relationship with him early on. My agent wound up calling the CD to confirm validity of the production company, checked contract etc. Just felt like if I went without him was kind of lacking protection so to speak, although truthfully I think I had the option of bringing him on board or not, because he directly asked me if I was bringing them on for it. Thanks for all the help...I know this was an odd controversial/sticky situation. ‐----------- Hello folks bit of a unique situation here so some background info. I was in the acting/standup game(no really major bookings) and just recently came back after a long several year hiatus. I started auditioning again in April and since have auditioned lots, retained an agent 2 weeks ago and just got my first large (by my standard) booking today. It's a 5 day non union shoot in the Dominican Republic that pays close to 3k, Which is amazing for me! I should note I self submitted for this project. I don't say this to brag...this has all moved so quick and I don't know what to do with my agent in this situation considering I SELF BOOKED this gig. I did not sign any contract...it was just a verbal confirmation of representation and than connection to him on Actors Access/casting networks/etc. Obviously just signing with him 2 weeks ago he barely knows who I am and HAS NOT sent me out for an audition yet even. Should I tell him about this project/pay him his cut or no? What is the procedure in this situation...again no contract...no auditions but there was the verbal agreement. I wouldn't mind paying him the 600 or whatever it pays under the guise that it puts me in the front of his mind and I get bookings down the road but I'd be heated if I shelled out 600 to this guy for my hard work...got no bookings through him, and than dropped him a few months down the road....what should I do in this situation? Thanks!

For actors with visible forearm tattoos, how much do they actually affect getting cast if you’re good at covering them with makeup for auditions and on set? What I’m really wondering is: if an actor shows up with their tattoos already fully covered, are they still at a disadvantage? I know one of the biggest concerns is the extra time and cost of makeup, so if that issue is essentially eliminated, do visible tattoos still hurt your chances of booking roles? I’d love to hear from actors, casting directors, or anyone with firsthand experience.

Hey r/VoiceActing! A Reddit Admin has confirmed that an LA Times reporter wants to speak to 2 or 3 individuals from our subreddit who are newer to the industry and also have 1-3 years of experience. Strong preference goes to individuals based in LA or the West Coast, but the reporter is otherwise open to others who are starting out in the industry with at least ONE year of experience. The reporter would like to interview named voice actors who can go on the record to explain how AI has impacted how much work is out there (do you see less work in or outside of Reddit) and if voice actors can also comment their thoughts on AI cloning voices in general, that would be appreciated. The call would be approximately 45 minutes, one-on-one, within 24 hours or so after Tuesday, August 4th, and would need to be done in PST business hours via Google Meet. Please respond to this post so that moderators can send you a modmail. First come first serve basis for people who can be verified. **Modmail has been sent, please respond to your Chats!**

Hello there! I'm sorry if this kind of post gets old/ has already been made many times. I just didn't find anything specific enough for the work I want to be doing. I'm a not-so-beginner voice actor and a singer, and I'm looking for a good mic. I got some names off of a quick search, but other than that, idk much about mics. I need smth good enough for expressive and intense voice acting (I have a fairly exaggerated role in an animated series) and also good at picking up my voice with singing?? Does that make sense?? (I'm trying to audition for a musical as well if that narrows it down) I'm just working in my bedroom. Honestly, I don't have a soundproof setup, but I can occasionally record at my workplace (a studio with dedicated sound rooms), which has a soundproof room. After reading a bunch of posts in this sub, Ik what to do in terms of soundproofing, and I'll try to do most of my auditions at my workplace. Tysm for reading and apologies of the post isn't allowed. (The names I got from the search are Shure SM58, Rode PodMic, Audio-Technica AT2040, and Samson Q2U. Are they decent?)

Do you have a completed pilot for a show you want to produce or started producing? If so message me, so I can enter you into a tournament- if you qualify.

Hi guys! Gonna try my best to keep this short and sweet. Four years ago, I (28F) almost signed with an agent, didn't do it, and instead worked a very intensive, crazy long hours kinda job until one month ago... solely because I've missed acting so much. So now that I have some savings, it's what I'm pursuing. I should note that I'm doing this as full-out as I can so I don't regret not trying later in life. I just- need to do it- it's on my mind too often to not at least give myself a fighting chance. My goal is to land in TV and film and I don't need to be famous, I just want to work a job that I love and I love acting. Just all of it, the whole process, even the ugly parts. If it doesn't work out after some years of grinding, it's okay, this is just something I need to do. Here's the plan. Move to NYC for a year because 1. I ADORE New York City and have always wanted to live there and 2. Train in some of the amazing studios there, make connections (and more creative friends), and of course, start auditioning. Ideally, I get some work in student films or find a group to create with and build up small credits. I want to learn how productions work anyway, and I think it's valuable knowledge for actors to have. Then, after I get my bearings, move to LA where all the major production studios are. Is this... a good or bad way to start a potential career? Obviously I know both places are tough and are even tougher jumping into with little experience. Small fish, big pond and all that. But I also figure, with most auditions being self-tapes now, maybe it doesn't matter so much to start in a big market (and... not quite the "best" market for film)? Since I can audition for work from, well, anywhere? As far as finances go, I'd be okay in either place for a while and plan on doing flexible work while I'm there to support myself, so that's not a concern (yet). Thanks in advance!

Wondering if you have some suggestions for how I can get background extra work? Do you really have to scroll every day on actors access etc just to maybe get a gig as an extra? In the Uk there are sites and agencies specifically for background work, so I was wondering if more alternatives exist like that in LA. Thanks !

I see most post on this thread very film centered. And I think most people when we come to acting, we think film or TV as the epitome of someone’s career. Or at least that’s what I’ve seen both while at school and then in reality. And don’t get me wrong, ever since I was a child I’ve dreamt about being part of a film, and have actually done some! Nothing huge to be the epitome of my career yet, however theatre keeps pulling me back, always welcoming me with big open arms. And here I’ve done some amazing things, even gotten paid pretty decently for it. I don’t remember when was the last time I heard someone say “I want to do theatre”. Why do I keep hearing theatre actors complain about salaries, how it’s impossible to live solely from it, yet I hear so much respect for theatre actors, both from the audience and people within the industry. This rant comes from where I am in my career. Recently relocated to Mexico City from living 5 years in Vancouver, and about to apply for a year residency for doing theatre. So I wonder, should I just focus on theatre and film will eventually follow? Why, if people that do theatre recognize its complexity and discipline, why is film more popular both for audiences and the people who make it? Am I alone with this question? And if not, where does the desire of being in film truly comes from? Is this a paycheck or mass exposure situation? Is it of how the industry itself has become a corporation? If you could choose one and have your desired salary in whatever you chose, which one would you go for? I wanted to hear other colleague’s thoughts on this, and thank you for navigating this with me. Lots of ideas, hoping to make sense.

I don’t think it’s a simple one moment decision, it’s complex and happens over a long period. I was last on stage two years ago, dropped by my agent this year after 7 year relationship (after they discovered I was looking to sign elsewhere) and signed with another. I have a passion for storytelling and have been quite successful - a few tv series, BBC, sky, Radio 4, several big stage shows. I’m curious, is there anyone out there who has left this industry and has not looked back? Im having a bit of a dark night of the soul. I never did it for the money but the insecurity it brings, the financial instability, the comparison - I don’t think anyone really explains the reality of it when you leave drama school. Most people in my year hated theatre but were desperate to be famous and ironically they have been very successful or/are dating other famous actors. I just don’t want to spend my life pushing or trying to force myself to be acknowledged by an industry that doesn’t love me back? I also know I’m a gifted actor and love being on stage. But I feel there is more to life. Is there a shadow side of the actor that wants to be ‘seen’ ’adored’ ? A lot of older actors I’ve worked with are quite resentful and bitter. Perhaps that insecurity never goes away. Any thoughts/feelings/experiences welcome x

Hi all! I'm an actor in Sydney, I have been on sets for over a decade and have been able to work full time for the last 3-4 years as a professional freelance actor and model, but my network is also feeling the drought so I'm trying to find representation to help me reach further. What do you put in your cold emails? How indepth do you go with your experience/credits or do you keep it vague unless they ask for specifics? Should I link them to my IMDB if they didn't specifically request it in the submission info? Is a longer list of credits more intriguing? Do they care if you had a bigger role in a smaller production or a small role in a bigger production? Do I mention studios or IPs I've worked with? Do they care about social media? Literally any tips, feedback or experiences you've had with cold emailing agents please let me know I'd be so grateful!

I am looking for advice on my first screen acting role this weekend. I have very little experience outside of some high school drama club stuff I did over a decade ago. I have a small group of friends who all want to be filmmakers. There are four of us and each has a place behind the camera they're interested in (writing, camera, editing etc). The only component we're really missing is acting, but because I'm the writer of the group I have less things to do on the day of the shoot so I became the de facto actor. We plan to reach out and make some actor friends or hire people in the future but since we're starting from zero experience it felt like a better decision to try and learn in house. I'd hate to waste someone's time by being completely inexperienced. This first project is more a learning experience for all of us than anything else. So, with that preamble out of the way. I'd like any advice I could get on the craft. I do not want to belittle it at all, I don't think a reddit post will make me a great actor or anything. I just want to be serviceable. The short is a very simple horror story. A guy finds a monster in his house and is eaten by it essentially. It's very inspired by cheesy B-movies, the guy is a stoner and the monster is pretty comical, but I'd like for the scary scenes to have some amount of legitimateness to them as a contrast to the comedic plot. I'm mostly nervous about how to portray fear and pain without it coming off too inauthentic. Because we only had one "actor", the only dialogue I wrote into the script is the guy talking to his friend on a gaming headset, so there won't be back and forth but I will have some lines and knowing how to deliver those is a concern for me as well. For a TLDR of all i'm asking; * How to portray fear and pain properly? * How to talk to someone not real (My character is talking over a mic) * General advice at all, any is appreciated. Youtube recommendations? * Lastly, while I have y'alls ear, what experience level for ourselves do you think is fair for us to start reaching out to actors in our city? Thank you for any and all advice!

This is supposedly a casting company based in HK, but I can’t find anything about them online. I searched the projects they supposedly have worked on but couldn’t find anything either. No mention on IMDB or anything. This is one of the accounts posting about the live action Naruto open call, which also seemingly has no affiliation with Carmen Cuba casting who is doing the one for Naruto. Wanted opinions since I feel like im being overly judgmental, but this also looks super non legit

I'm just kind of curious of people's origin stories in acting. Like did you take a lot of acting classes, go to every audition, and then got picked? Or were you lucky and were in the right place at the right time and had the right look? Or perhaps you happened to have the right connections? I'd love to hear stories of how some people made it. As much as I'd like to be an actor/voice actor, I know realistically my chances are practically impossible but I'd love to know what kind of things would be ahead of me in case I somehow get lucky
![[Hiring $80/hr] Seeking Actress for role in short film & YT comedy series [Seattle/Kirkland/Bellevue]](https://res.cloudinary.com/iadb/image/upload/v1/tasker/reddit.png)
PROJECT: Whitebelt (short film) & Clockwork (new companion YouTube comedy series) ROLE: Female Lead — Non-Speaking for film & soeaking for series CHANNEL: https://youtube.com/@clockworkproductions-h6q?si=tHPRX8Y0-QfOPZ0J LOCATION: Seattle Eastside (Redmond / Kirkland / Bellevue), WA COMPENSATION: Paid — $80/hr, paid same-day (Zelle; Venmo negotiable) ABOUT THE PROJECT Whitebelt is a dialogue-free short film — a stylized psychological piece about discipline, illusion, and self-improvement, told entirely through visual storytelling and sound design. It's being made both as a standalone festival submission and as the tonal foundation for Clockwork, a companion YouTube mockumentary-comedy series exploring the same character's world with real trained strikers already cast for its sparring sequences. ABOUT THE ROLE We're casting the female lead — a non-speaking role that appears across several scenes, functioning as both a photographed memory and a recurring, dreamlike presence within the film. This is a physical and expressive role rather than a dialogue-driven one: it calls for comfort with movement and controlled physicality on camera. A background in dance, martial arts, or athletic performance is a strong plus — this is a performance built through movement, not a look-based casting call. Prior acting experience is welcomed but not required. No romantic or physical content of any kind is involved. PRODUCTION DETAILS Age range: 25–35 Shoot schedule: One shoot day in August, Saturday or Sunday, 5–9pm (some flexibility available) Contract scope: This engagement covers the short film. There's an optional path to appear in 1–3 episodes of the companion series afterward — a separate conversation, only if it's of interest to you. Usage: Planned for YouTube release; may be submitted to film festivals first depending on the final result. TO APPLY Please send: 1. Any relevant acting, dance, or movement/athletic background 2. Your general availability in August Confirmation you're local to or able to travel to the Fremont area Interested applicants will receive a script excerpt and further project details ahead of a scheduled introductory call with the team via Zoom or Google Meet. Thank you for considering — happy to answer any questions along the way.

Hey I’ve gotten surprisingly a lot of auditions this year, but on one big one after the submission deadline near the name of the role it switched to “C viewed” Does anyone know what this means? To the best of my knowledge it’s like internal and not really supposed to show up, but is there anyone that’s had this happen or know what it could mean?

Second udpate: WOW the auditions are AMAZING! I may have said that there is no deadline to this, HOWEVER, i must now put a warning that there are very very good voixe actors that will soon take Leonardo and Lester, aswell as Fheimheinne. You guys should better hurry before Daisuke and The main lead Haneul So gets taken too! Tysm for all the support, I am so so excited for this project to start soon! REPOSTING since the last one seemed to not be getting as much auditions as I needed. I am very excited for this project so I really hope alot of you guys will atleast try! HIRING FOR A BL SERIES I WILL BE MAKING (Alienstage animation style. It will be posted on youtube, tiktok, and a webtoon.) Pls send an email to newreef27@gmail.com for submissions or dm me on reddit, whichever is easier for you. UPDATEE: PLEASE do not be intimidated by the amount of submissions. Trust me, I need MORE, I am looking for MORE actors to try because the voices have to be specific so PLEASE HELP ME AND SEND YOUR VOICE TO ME. It will never be enough and I will immediately reply to you as soon as I can. I dont usually take a day to reply as I am that serious about this project. Mostly MALE voice actors. Will be paying 50-150 USD per project. Per project words would probably just be 6-12 lines. WARNING, THIS IS GONNA BE A VERY LONG TERM PROJECT. (Might take years,. But what I mean is, the project will take years like the lines will continue to come in as the series continues and so will the payment.) Also this is called SEALANTERN planet so it might function different from earth. Deadline is as soon as someone who fits the role fits a role, if one character has no voice actor that fits him that i dont like, he will be free and open till I find one. So if someone for example, gets the main main lead first and I like the voice actor, then it wont be available anymore. But if the submissions are not up to my standards. the character will stay open till then. Characters: LESTER CRESTLOCK (Top) Male lead, a good singer, and slightly deep, prince like asmr voice. Gay, human immortal, age 12 - 16 - 50s, never grows old. Vocal mannerisms aee awkward but extremely romantic when he can be and very soft spoken. Preferrable british accent but if u can pull it off without one it is also okay. (Best example should be Jasper isaac, The singer from youtube who covered the song "HE") IMMEDIATELY ON THE TOP LIST IF YOU CAN DO BRITISH ACCENT. (You dont have to be british but you will be immediately prioritized if you are since Lester should be british. But dont be afraid to try him.) You do not need to send a singing vm or be a good singer, the singer VA can be a separate Voice actor. But if u can be both, the pay will be higher. Design: green eyes and crazy fly away brown hair, fairly tall, fair skin. Lines: 1. (Very soft and slightly smiling) "Hyung, You transferred here aswell...?" 2. (Very nervous, soft, and inlove sounding. Like alot of sighs and hesitation.) "Daisuke..I...Sigh.. I need to tell you something... Come here..." 3. (Smiling and ranting to a friend as he stares into the horizon. Very romantic and poetic sounding and soft and prince like.) "He...He means everything to me...So...So much..." 4.(Infront of the whole class, soft, but charming. Hsi eyes would be half lidded as he is smiling.) "Good morning, my name is Lester Crestlock. It's very nice to meet everyone of you. Please take good care of me." 5.(Please send us atleast one soft love song of you singing. Any song should be like, but best covers would be from Jasper Isaac's cover samples like the song "He", "I wish you liked boys", please dont go", breakup song", "I still want you". Basically a very yearning song, since he's a very romantic man.) DAISUKE SATO (Bottom) Main character for first part, kind of like a tsudere despite his soft voice. Book worm vibes, Curly hair, very nerdy, loves science, and Young and adorable sounding. (Best example should be mafuyu from given) Straight at first, Gay at the end. human immortal, age 16 - 50s, never grows old. His laughs sounds like aike hirose. Vocal mannerisms are slightly serious but very cute sounding regardless, he is also be very very soft spoken even with emotions, but is mostlly confident. Basically mafuyu vibes with attitude. Accent is generic american accent. Ethnicity is Japanese but his first language is english so thta wont matter. UNLESS the voice actor wants to voice act some japanese lines\~\~\~ then more money\~ but its not that needed. Design: Darkblue hair, Dark cyan eyes, pale skin, big eyes, slightly short but also tall Lines: 1. (upset and crying, setting is him hiding in his bedroom and curling up as he covers his ears, refusing to hear Lester from outside his balcony. You may be as slow as u want to be since Lester is serenading him in the backround and he uses to listen to Lester from upstairs.) "Lester..please...hic.... don't do this to me...stop..stop that...shut up..shut up..." 2. (Serious, flat and strict) "Hello, My name is Daisuke Sato. Uhh.. I'm the student council president. I came here to check on your club. And also- please sign this. Here. Just.. \\\*points at the paper\\\* just here." 3. (Happy and very soft spoken and blushing) "Hahaha! You're such an idiot.... Okay..okay.. Fine.. But I won't let this go next time." 4. (Emberassed) "Wh-what the... Sh-shut up! That's not how it supposed to work! \\\*Pause and snatches the item from you\\\*, GIVE me that. There. It should be like this." ‼️WARNING, YAOI GENRE STARTS WITH HANEUL AND LEON‼️ HANEUL SO YON (Bottom) Second Main chraacter (Will have a longer story and will be the ending main character.) HANEUL SO YON will be a slightly more intense genre, He will have lost of NSFW parts (trigger warning, will have Drug abuse, extreme violence, self harm, rape, sex, depression, hallucination, basically mental health, obsession, possession, beastmen (the MCs are not beasts but there will be character that will come into the picture.) and representations of multiple sht.) will also have a merdy sounding voice, must sound fragile and should be an expert when it comes to screaming and shouting and crying. He is extremely depressed and traumatized. He will be a very adorable and cute muffin at first, then very cold, but soft and shy person at the end. Gay since birth. human immortal, age 18 - 70s, never grows old. Older than Lester and Daisuke. (At this point, I should mention that all characters can reach 1000 years old and still look young.) Vocal mannerisms are very soft spoken, shy, mostly nervous and mafuyu vibes basically. Accent is generic american accent. Ethnicity is korean but his first language is also english so that wont matter. HOWEVERR, it would be mice if an actual koren gets to voice act him. Even more adorable if his english has a sort of korean accent?? that would be so important since he's gonna be the main main focus of the series. But if u cant have a korean accent and can still pull off his kind of voice without it, then its okay. I just would like an accent but yeah hehe. Design: Daisuke Sato look alike, Dark blue hair, Dark blue eyes, Straighter hair than Daisuke. Very Short, Extremely pale, Will look unhealthy most of the series. Lines: 1. (screaming, crying, sniffling, hurting the wall and fraustrated) "AAGHHH!! FUCK, FUCK FUCK FUCK! FUCK...!!! Fuckk!....ha..haaa...('Ha's' should be just crying sounds basically.)....hic...I wanna fucking kill him...hic..." 2. (Happy, blushing and younger sounding.) "L-lester...? You school here aswell..? I-I just got transferred here...yes...hehe.." 3. (Scared) "N-no...No...NO NO NO I'M SORRY, I'M SORRY, PLEASE. AGH!! NO STOP, STOP IT! LET ME GO!" 4. (Curious, confused, nervous and wandering) "Huh...what should I buy with this much money..? Uhm...maybe I'll go to that one store over there.....but...but what do I buy..? Is this..is this really okay?" Leonardo - last name TBA (Top) Second male lead ( he will be the one causing most of Haneul So Yons pain. Will have a longer story and will be the ending main character.) Same warnings will be as Haneul So Yon. Should be good at screaming, anger, shouting, and alot of sarcasm. He is extremely charming, and has a very huge problem with his mood and anger management. (Yes he has MAJOR anger issues) Straight at first, Gay at the end. He is a specific immortal I can't reveal for spoilers, age 1000+ when first introduced and unknown the next years after. (Also I don't think this is pedophilia since Haneul will meet Leon by the age of 60+ so he's basically an ultra adult or smth.) Vocal mannerisms are very mischievous, sarcastic, full of attitude and manipulation and has alot of confidence and some sort of tightness in his voice usually, as if he is holding back his anger 24/7(he is, thats why he always sounds strained. Depends on the occasion tho.) Accent is generic american accent. Ethnicity is not important, so just..american ig. But his pay will be a bit higher for the voice actor ESPECIALLY during his screaming and shouting parts when the time comes\~. Design: Not Drawn yet, But he is always smiling and has maroon hair and tan skin. He has yellow eyes. And a menacing grin and always has a dark smile. As tall as Lester, and is extremely powerful than the average human. (explanation will reveal itself on why.) 1. (Mischievous but unsure and awkward) "Heyyyyy, you kay there..?? Haha... You're..all soaked in the rain? welllllll my therapist told me to make friends so here I am....hahah...ha..." 2. (Sarcastic) "\\\*Scoff\\\*, you talk like you can do better. Hehe. \*He pauses, as if listening to someone talk and nodding\* Oh yeah? Right.... Here uhh, piece of advice, \*he says confidently before lowering his voice and whispering menacingly\*(the whisper should not be too whispered, just very deep and dark like a threat.) "shut up before I get mad...hm? \\\*he leans back smiling and proud, suddenly in a good mood again. But he should say good boy in a soft way still, not too much of a stark contrast to the whisper\\\*, good boy!!" 3. (Really angry, like really angry. Like he's beating someone up in this line. He is an extremely angry person when he gets out of control. So like...shouting. or just basically supposed to make u shrink when u listen to him scream.) " YOU FUCKING BITCH, AFTER EVERYTHING IVE DONE FOR YOU!!! AND THIS IS WHAT YOU DO TO ME!? THIS IS HOW YOU FUCKING PAY ME BACK!?!?!?!?" 4. (Crying and softened, context should be smth like he was about to do something he promised he would do, but backed out on the last minute. It has to sound like the task was supposed to be very very important. You can add more lines of your own if you want or change the lines in a way that the meaning wont change but feel more comfortable with you. Up to you!) "I'm sorry... I'm sorry...I just..I just cant..hic...I cant... I can't do it...I can't.. I'm sorry... Fuck...fuck I can't do it...hic..haaa..." FHEIMHEINNE (Straight side character) Very very mischievous and unserious. A pervert, Has alot to say about sex and milfs and his penis. Playful, cheerful, supportive friend. Very open to any voice types as I'm not sure yet. Aslong as he sounds like an idiot and a dumbass, he's perfect. Straight and an allay, Bestfriend of Lester and Daisuke. Human immortal, age 16 - 50s, never grows old. Vocal mannerisms are obviously something like verity from That mobs channel, Verity the blob. A very confident, sounding man with just alot of energy, but not too much to the point that he's like pinky pie. You'll understand his personality in the lines I'll put down below. Accent is generic american accent. Ethnicity is not important too. Design: unfortunately handsome, Rich, Red hair, Red eyes, Clean hairstyle and fairly tall. Lines: 1.(Happy, doing the thrusting dance as he celebrates while singing like an idiot) "AHH YEAH!! UH UH, MHH MHH, FUCK YEA. TAKE THAT!! Mm mm, mmm mm, mmm mmm, mmm mmm-!" (The 'm's' can just be randome singing tbh, aslong as he sounds dumb) 2. (mischievous and confident, like an idiot) "Hahhahaa shit thats so fking funny! Haha!....haha...haha...wait, you're serious?" 3. (Angry) "FUCK! IM TOO DUMB FOR THIS SHIT, WHY DO I HAVE TO KEEP GOING THROUGH THIS!? DAMMIT!" 4.(Sad and crying. Like, genuinely crying. Overreacting crying. Like he's too hot he can't take it that he's losing breath and is about to pass out.) "Sniff...sniff...hic...dammit....sniff...Why cant I just..sniff...hic.....I can't take it... I'm too sexy...hic...gasp...IM TOO FUCKING HOT!???" Pls DM me your samples and which character you are Casting as.

For the new voice actors in the industry, what has been your greatest challenge so far?

**Full disclosure first: I run a voice over agency and marketplace (Voice Crafters). This post isn't advertising it.** **We're not recruiting; our roster is closed, there's nothing for sale, and no newsletter is waiting to ambush your inbox. The mods approved this post.** Earlier this year I put together an independent, anonymous survey on the state of voice acting. Auditions, rates, platform cuts, AI, all of it. Just over 400 working voice actors have filled it out so far. Some early numbers: 78% believe they've lost work to an AI voice. 57% suspect an audition they recorded was used as finished work, without being hired or paid. 63% say their rates have stayed flat or dropped over the past 3 years. 32% seriously considered leaving voice over in the past year. Does that match your experience? If it doesn't, that's a good reason to add your answers. The survey takes about 7 minutes. Anonymous, no name or email required. It closes **Aug 15.** After that, I'll publish the full results, this subreddit included, and hand them to journalists who cover the industry. **The bigger the sample, the harder these numbers are to dismiss.** Here's the link: [https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfuKyWvmLyToVuc3zwTgGpBULErPGv\_jomhp9TpjDuhsKrA3A/viewform](https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfuKyWvmLyToVuc3zwTgGpBULErPGv_jomhp9TpjDuhsKrA3A/viewform) The form also exists in Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Arabic and Japanese. I'll drop those links in a comment so this post stays readable. Happy to answer questions about the survey or the methodology in the comments.

Hello im 19m, I’m not a voice actor but I imagine you guys might know about stuff like this. Has anyone ever dealt with voice feeling tight and taking more effort than it should along with buldging neck muscles? Is there anything I could try like massages in a certain area or something or is this a ent type issue?

We're currently casting background characters for our western saga story and have the following roles available: Because of the setting, a convincing Southern accent is required for all roles. A man who believes he's Jesus A heavily intoxicated woman Jackson An angry couple A fanatical preacher Several outlaw characters with brief one-line performances If you're interested in auditioning, please let me know which role(s) you'd like to be considered for so I can place you in the appropriate casting process. If selected, I also offer performance-based bonuses, depending on factors such as the quality of the performance, the number of takes required, and the turnaround time for submitting your audio. All finalized roles are compensated if hired. As future projects become available, compensation may increase based on the size and scope of the role. If you have any questions or would like to receive audition material, feel free to reach out. I look forward to hearing your audition! Email is sbj.tv@yahoo.com.

I love these interviews. This one is one my favorites. It got me thinking, if you could interview another actor, who would you want to interview and why?I would love to interview Jeremy Renner. We are around the same age, grew up in different parts of California, he broke through later, but had a completely different childhood than I did. I really connected with his book, My Next Breath about his snowcat accident. He is very mentally healthy and I really want to know how he maintains that while playing characters like Mike on The Mayor Of Kingstown. There is such cognitive disonance from who Renner is as a person. https://youtu.be/09Z0pK3XsV8?si=ce_ZoIS8u6CL6-yP

Actors, would you rather star as the lead in a low-budget indie with "unknowns" or take a much smaller role in a prestige film with A-Listers? As an actor myself, I always found that this question leads to very different perspectives on an interesting subject matter. I would love to hear everyone's thoughts! Olá pessoal! Sou Natália, roteirista de Luanda, Angola

I live with my sister and my mom and dad in the same house. I usually do voice acting in my room. however, 99% of the day, my parents and sister are upstairs almost right next to my room. if I want to voice acting for a character when they’re screaming, how can I do so without annoying my family or humiliating myself?

I know that film, tv, and theatre actors will take their scripts home and really pore over them. But I've heard you don't really have the time for that when you're voice acting in a studio with an engineer and a director.

I had a scene with Tom Hanks in A Man Called Otto. Between takes, I thanked him for something he did — and what he said back has genuinely changed how I show up on every set since.https://youtu.be/UgLJwTQtUtoHave you ever experienced a well-known actor being generous or kind on set? Share it here and on the channel.

Hi r/VoiceActing, I'm developing a murder mystery game in my spare time and I'm adding a voicemail as a piece of evidence. I'm looking for a voice actor to record the lines and also edit the audio to sound like its coming from a phone speaker, similar to the "Phone Guy" calls in Five Nights at Freddy's: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egYTAXLRsqM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=egYTAXLRsqM) **Voice:** American Male, 30's-40's **Background**: A police officer leaves a voicemail to another police officer in a different county with some bad news. **Script:** About 10 lines long **Additional Editing:** Please edit your voice to sound like its coming from a phone speaker. **Pay:** $50 If you're interested, please reply or DM me with some kind of portfolio or sample of your work. Thanks!

Hi! Kind of a weird request - Does anyone know this 2016-era voice actor used in this video at the 2:05 mark? Thanks a lot! I assume he would be found through the F word platform or youtube at the time but after long searches I haven’t been able to find him.

Hey everyone, I’m not a voice actor but I AM a public speaker (as a hobby) and have also done a few voice over things for my friends’ projects and a few of my own. I’ve got two questions just out of curiosity: 1. what stands out about my voice FIRST when you hear it? 2. are there any specific character types that you think it would be a good fit for? Again, I’m asking totally out of curiosity, and everything I’m typing here is being said in a genuine way and NOT condescending or snarky at all. I would really love to hear what your guys’ thoughts are! Edit: thank you to the people who gently pointed out why my question was not very good or helpful. If you’re an actor then you need to be able to make your voice fit whatever character you are given, not force yourself into one box or category. I mostly do public speaking and not acting so I was asking this mostly for fun but I could see now how on a sub specifically for voice acting, people could see it as me not taking their profession seriously. Sorry for the annoying newbie question ya’ll!

Last night, I had the good fortune to be in the audience for THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA at the Pantages Theatre out here in Hollywood. This was the third time I'd seen it -- the first time, the Phantom was played by Michael Crawford (who originated the role), the second time was with Davis Gaines in the title role, and last night, the role was played by Isaiah Bailey. For those of you who have not seen the play (or are unfamiliar with the story), I will remain as spoiler-free as I can. Needless to say, there's the (spoiler) Phantom who (spoiler) tutors the young ingenue, Christine Daae.In Crawford and Gaines' portrayals, there is a sense that the Phantom has genuinely fallen in love with Christine, and is actually quite tender with her. This gives the production a strangely romantic note (pun intended), and he is very much a tragic figure, given the circumstances that led to his situation as well as the events of the production.Interestingly, Bailey's performance last night had a different quality to it. He seemingly infused his portrayal with possessiveness, turning his actions and relationship with Christine into one that was more sinister in nature. This seemed to make his Phantom into more of an antagonist and villain, even to the object of his desire. This made last night's performance a different experience for those of us in attendance who had seen it previously. It opened up a different perspective to the story, one separate from how it is usually publicized. And it gives its sequel (no spoilers!), LOVE NEVER DIES, a very different implication. It's interesting to see how different actors can color a role, living in stark contrast to those who had inhabited it previously.I remember taking a Shakespeare intensive workshop, where one of the instructors (Armin Shimerman, who was fantastic!) pointed out something rather interesting. Well, a few things. - One, you can easily tell "good Shakespeare" from "bad Shakespeare", because in "good Shakespeare", the actors actually know what they're saying, as opposed to merely saying words in iambic pentameter.- The second, was how each actor who plays Hamlet can change the character just by where they place their emphasis on "To be, or not to be, that is the question." It depends on where you put the emphasis. "TO BE, or not to be, THAT is the question," is quite different than "To be, or NOT to be, THAT is the question," for example. And it is the actor's decision therein to show Hamlet's mindset: Does he want to live, or does he want to die?Which brings me back to THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA. Crawford's performance was layered, and showed depth of character. Gaines' performance was layered, and showed depth of character. Bailey's performance was layered, and showed depth of character. And other actors bring their own take to the character as well. The script was the same. The music was the same. The songs were the same. The story was different.

like HONESTLY BROI never thought I'd say that.A while ago, all I wanted was a place where people could learn about my project, Savage Smile. Today, that idea turned into a real website. And then something happened...Someone visited it.
