I'm an actor based in HK and have been looking into different online acting classes (HB Studios, Stella Adler, Howard Fine, Warner Loughlin). Only the Barrow Group offers one that fits my timezone. Anyone got experience with their classes? Are they worth it? Also, if you have other reputable studios in mind pl…

I attended a video webinar yesterday for Alycia Kaback on how to get an agent in acting and start working within 30 days. I saw her ad on IG and I admit, I did not do my homework and blindly signed up. I've been in a frustrating spot lately where I can't get any vouchers for SAG and can't find any work. So I thought wh…

So today I got this audition for a huge TV show, really excited about it, but after searching up the name of the character online, it says the role has already been cast and that another actor is set to play the role. What could this mean?

For those wanting to learn (or improve on) the craft of voice acting, I suggest going over to YouTube and watching some of Critical Role. They are, in their words, "A bunch of nerdy-ass voice actors who play Dungeons and Dragons." They are all seasoned pros at voice acting, and even if D&D isn't your thing you'll get a…

I'm a voice actor. I got some experience, but I was wondering, outside of my friend group I don't have many ideas on how to join projects. There are threads like these but I'm often way too late to answer them in time, or before others. Any help would be appreciated :D Thank you!

Hi Everyone! I posted on her about a month ago to learn how other actors got a better sense of what each member of the crew does pre-production, during production and post. Some of the responses said they wanted to follow my updates. Because I did not find an all inclusive source to start learning from others I decided…

I'm a US citizen, and I've done some work as an extra/actor. I have a friend who's an international student with an F-1 Visa. It'd be cool if I could share some opportunities with him. I think my best bet would be to look for international auditions in the US, but I have yet to find one.

I'm often interested and just overall like the roles and voices of characters/actors with lots of voice cracks. How do you go about making fake voice cracks for a character? I've noticed usually they stay on average on a more high-pitch / exaggerated voice, but what else would possibly be good info, practice, or techni…

I am sure this has already been asked but please don’t flame me. I’m an actor with a decently-known agent and manager, and I get plenty of auditions. Our contract is freelance. My understanding is that dubbing is when a project is in a different language, and they are looking for english-speaking actors to dub over the original dialogue. I get sent these auditions pretty often, but with little to no details about the project, the tone, the genre, etc. I'll usually get a character description…
