If you ever have the time to read all this, I would LOVE some opinions because I am so absolutely torn on what to do for university. I’m a canadian who wants to be a working actor basically trying to pick between 2 programs, creative industries at Ryerson (about more of the business side of film, fashion, theatre, etc)…

I’ve never had any training nor done any work as a voice actor but I’m eager to start! I’d like to find a one on one coach to help me get my career started. Classrooms haven’t ever been my thing, I learn well in personal coaching environments. I’m hoping my classroom issues/fears will get better as I get more comfortab…

I'm not saying these aren't good to get your career started; but is this how every actor nowadays starts in order to get noticed and make it towards big budget films?

Before going any deeper into the description, let just make a quick disclaimer right from the outset: This game is not exactly a cash grab game. Please do explicitely not join the team, if your main goal is just to make loads of money. Neither do we have a massive budget, nor is the main goal of the game to maximize ea…

Hello everyone. I understand it is a bit late but I just wanted to throw it out here. I have created a survey with very simple 10 questions which should not take more than 5-10 minutes to complete. It is 100% anonymous and I will greatly appreciate it if you took the time to answer the questions. I am doing a 3000 thou…

So, within the last year, I've gotten into remarkably better shape than I've ever been in, and I'm wondering how to showcase this. Do any fit actors out there make a point of having a headshot that showcases a little more physique, or scenes in your demo that show it off a little? I am 27F, and mostly go out f…

I was looking to get some good quality headshots at an affordable rate. I am not an actor but i am contemplating pursuing it but for my own purposes. I would like to have some headshots on hand just in case, for acting gigs or even just for a linked in profile pic. It does not hurt to have them on hand. Idk how the pro…

I don't speak another language, I'm not into martial arts, I can't do any accents , etc. I basically like to go for runs, read and write, none of which I can imagine should be on an acting resume. Does it matter if you don't have any special skills to put? Are special skills something you picked up over time in your ca…

[https://youtu.be/0Uf8qUw10-w](https://youtu.be/0Uf8qUw10-w) I was doing it mostly for the fun of it -- I am not an actor by any means. I did improv here and there, but never fully committed myself to the art. I was curious if I was any good, and if not -- no hurt feelings, I'm sure I will find my calling elsewhere, or…

I found this really great video that helped me to hone my acting skills and think of it more as a craft rather than a job. It truly is an artistic craft and this video helped me to understand that and become the more established actor that I am today. In this video only a few steps are given but they TRULY helped me! H…

Is it okay for me, a white actor, to audition with a song meant for a black actor? I don't have a lot of musical experience so I've been looking for an audition song that would display what I can do. Do agents/agencies usually pay for casting sites? I'm talking Actor's Access, LA Casting, Casting Frontier. I currently pay for my own memberships for each of those. Is this something an agency can/should be paying for? FWIW, I'm with a smaller agency in LA. Thanks!

I am portraying Celia in Calendar Girls at a community theater, and while I am 30, I look nowhere close to the 35+ role. Hair and makeup is largely up to the actors, and this is the first role where I am older than my age. The main challenge is I have Shirley Temple curls, so that adds to my youthful appearance. Do you…
