Yes I pay the yearly $68 on showfax and I remember being a poor actress living off ramen not being able to afford audition scenes on showfax. So if anyone needs me to email them a specific scene message me and I can help out! Just trying to give back to the acting community!!!

So I’m a [f/20] I’m from LA originally and I’m an actress. Back when I was 17/18 I had good agents that sadly stopped being an agent. I was at AKA talent agency... but my agent quit and became a yoga instructor and then I got signed with Pantheon but my agent quit because she booked a series regular on This is Us (Chri…

So i recently signed up to an extra's agency - not thinking much about it. I received an availability check today for a list of dates from early March to late May - for Game of Thrones. I really want to do it, i feel like it would be an amazing experience. It's paid work, really not the best wage considering its a 12hr…

Hi there, I'm working on defining my branding/type before getting new headshots and would love if you could complete this survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/58JDMT9 If anyone else wants to do this, I'd be happy to complete your survey as well! Thanks, Loralee

Hi everyone! I’m not personally an actor, but my boyfriend is. He’s been taking Meisner classes for almost a year now. He seems really into it. He loves going to class and he’s even read all of Sanford Meisner on Acting (which is the first time I think I’ve ever seen him finish a book!) But he’s getting tired of having…

I have no formal training other than a sketchy school a few years ago. I know that schools arent the gatekeeper to acting career but can be helpful. For those who studied here, what are your thoughts about it? Training quality, skills developed and if you feel you became a better actor? This year they introduced a tuit…

Hey there! I'm a model looking to transition into acting. I know one of the first steps is getting a good headshot. Luckily, I have plenty of high quality photos, I just don't know if any will work as an actor's headshot. Here's the one I've been using. Feedback would be very appreciated. Also if you have a "type" that…

Hi guys, I'm doing an audition for an Audible studios radio drama and as an actor who has only auditioned for exclusively film, TV, and theatre, I'm not too sure how to go about this audition. I haven't got a script yet but am I expected to memorize some sides? Will I be auditioning in front of a radio mic? What kind o…

1. My acting coach told me that theatrically talent agencies and managers won’t even consider me if I don’t have an LA commercial talent agent and have booked commercials. 2. I have been told starting off in a smaller market will increase my chances of success in LA (6 years in SF) but after almost a year submitting to…

I’m hoping it’s not forever, and I know I can always get more, but I worked really really hard to get the breadcrumbs that I have. Because of the fact that I can’t survive financially in these bullshit survival jobs that dick you around non stop and refuse to give full time / living wages I’ve had to stop acting and ba…

Hi there, I want to keep it short and to the point. I live in Ireland, there isn't many auditions and opportunities for aspiring actors, not down south anyway. I'm stuck as regards to improving my acting abilities. I attend drama lessons only once a week due to the distance, but feel like even the lessons aren't enough…

I’m in a play that is more intimate than I’m used to: I’m a lot closer to other actors, the content is more sensitive than usual, and it’s a lot more realistic than anything I’ve done before. The problem is, despite the intimacy of the play, it is being performed in a 500 seat theatre, and I’m having trouble projecting…

Up front: I am a 27/M with zero experience acting, zero classes and I am a working business professional about to accept a job in either LA or SD (two offers, still mulling which one is better). I live in Europe I'm 16 and it's been a year now since I started acting. I start to consider work and enter bussiness. Why do you want to be an actor? If the chance fell into your lap today to be in a starring role within a film that could potentially impact your "acting" career on a very positive level for many years to come, do you believe that you would ace the role...whatever that role may be? And if so, what makes you so certain?…

Acting is the one career that can't simply be followed on one path. There's no guarantees or list of steps to success. Not for myself, but I noticed a few colleagues who sign up with big name agencies. At first I see them posting selftapes or getting roles. Weird question but I heard in America good teeth is very much a status thing. My teeth need a year of bracers and then veneers if I wanted them to look better, but I'm comfortable with my teeth how they are. But I also don't want to aim for America if I don't fit what they look for in young female actors. Opinions?

Yes, actors in L.A. aren't supposed to get direct copies of the Breakdowns, only agents, but actors ARE getting them. HOW? WHERE? Seems this would eliminate the role of agents as "gatekeepers" and put the actor more in control of their own career.
